A PIECE of long-lasting heritage has been revived at the Blue Cap in Sandiway, as the Vale Royal Lodge of Cheshire Freemasons returned to make it their home again after 20 years' absence.
The Lodge had previously met at the Blue Cap for some 73 years, before moving in 1998 to allow for redevelopment works.
But it has now returned 'home' after a team of volunteers transformed the upper floors into a suitable space complete with stair lift.
The Blue Cap can trace its history back to 1716 when it was a coaching inn, and over the years has seen many owners. It is now owned by Greene King.
Vale Royal Lodge is well known in the area and has in the past donated to charities including the Petty Pool Trust, St. Luke’s Hospice and the Scouts.
