STAFF at MBL have been overwhelmed by Northwich residents’ Christmas spirit as they collect selection boxes for a children’s charity – so much so that their desks have been taken over by chocolatey treats.

The chartered accountants’ office in the Bull Ring, behind Burdett’s Barbers by the river, is a drop-off point for the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust’s selection box appeal.

The charity, which offers activities for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children across the north west, is hoping to give each of the 1,200 children attending a Christmas party a sweet treat.

Scores of boxes have already been donated ahead of the parties, which run from November 19 to December 19 at CAFT’s Millington base, but more are needed.

Helen Crowther from the charity said: “We’re so touched by the fantastic response to the Selection Box Appeal by the lovely people of Northwich, they’ve really got behind our appeal and have shown great generosity.

"We have to secure 1,200 chocolate Selection Boxes so we still need lots of help to bring smiles to the faces of these amazing children – so please do keep donating if you can.”

Selection boxes can be dropped off at MBL Monday to Thursday and will be collected until Friday, December 14.
