A GROUP of Moulton runners paid their respects to those who risked their lives in the First World War by raising money through an event on Sunday.
After attending the morning service and proceedings at Moulton war memorial, members of the group ‘Moulton Runners’ got together and completed a run in memory of the fallen.
Those taking part had pre-purchased a virtual medal, with the funds going towards the Royal British Legion charity for veterans.
The run itself started from the Moulton branch of the Royal British Legion.
Runners across the country took part in the Poppy Run, and anyone who couldn’t find time on Sunday can still secure a medal by taking part in their own time.
The Royal British Legion provides financial, social and emotional support to members and veterans of the British Armed Forces, their families and dependants.
Moulton Runners meet at 7pm every Tuesday and Thursday at Moulton park, and all are welcome to take part or join the group free of charge.
