Local lads from Winsford who joined up in 1914
THIS picture captured a group of local lads from Winsford who joined up in 1914.
They are training at a camp in France in their civvies as there were not enough uniforms to begin with.
Four of the men have been named as Tom Royle, of High Street (fourth from left, back row), Alf Slater, of Moss Lane (first on left, back row), Arthur Booth, of Littler Lane (first on left, middle row) and Jim Done, of High Steret (first on right, front row).
