VILLAGERS will be remembering the lost boys of Lostock Green at a remembrance service on Sunday.

Wreaths will be laid to commemorate the sacrifice made in the First World War by local lads whose names are carved on the war memorial outside Lostock Green Methodist Church.

William Hesketh, Henry Gleave, William Goodier, Peter Goodier, George Snelson, Thomas Snelson and Thomas Wrench will be honoured alongside Hubert Bell who died in June 1945 in Germany.

Lostock Green Methodist Church parishioners and the Tuesday art group have created a poppy display inside the church.

Rev James Patron Bell will lead a service at 10.30am.

Free copies of a book The Lost Boys of Lostock, donated by author and local resident John Knowles will be available as coffee and cakes are served afterwards in the village rooms.
