LAUGHTER, smiles and lots of fun filled Rudheath Primary Academy as children joined their families for an annual pumpkin festival.

Pupils and their parents created all sorts of spooky faces after scooping out the middle from the giant autumn vegetables.

Early years lead teacher Kelly Sweeney said: “We've had a super time at our pumpkin festival.

"The children enjoyed carving pumpkins, pumpkin crafts and finished by sharing some of the autumn songs they have been learning.

"Thank you to everyone who came to help. The children were superstars."

The lights were turned off during the sing song so pupils could see their candle-lit carved pumpkin faces glow in the dark.

Pumpkins were then lined up and lit along the path leading to the school on Gadbrook Road for a Halloween disco in the evening.

The school would like to thank Tesco and The Hollies Farm Shop for supporting the event.
