CONSTRUCTION staff on Winsford building sites are turning pink to support a breast cancer charity.

Workers building homes for Barratt and David Wilson Homes will be swapping their usual hard hats and high visibility jackets for bright pink ones on Friday to raise awareness for Breast Cancer Now.

More than £31.5 million has been raised by wear it pink supporters since it began in 2002.

The charity helps towards funding cutting edge research across the UK and Ireland to help find a cure for breast cancer at all stages.

This year, campaigners hope to raise even more through businesses, schools and individuals wearing it pink.

Every day more than 140 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK. The money raised will help the 50,000 women and 350 men diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the UK.

Lynton Dudgeon, sales director at Barratt and David Wilson North West, said: “We are very happy to be supporting wear it pink for breast cancer awareness and I think our construction team have a lot of fun getting to wear pink personal protective equipment for the day.

“We’re taking part in the fantastic campaign to supporting those suffering with breast cancer and hopefully do our bit towards raising awareness.

“It is very important that as a leading housebuilder we are getting involved and supporting charities like this. We hope that our contribution to the breast cancer campaign can help to make the day even bigger and better than last year and raise money to help us get closer to beating breast cancer altogether.”

Barratt and David Wilson Homes is currently building new homes at Charlotte Place and Weaver View on Townfields Road in Winsford.
