LIQUIDATORS have been appointed following the closure of a Winsford golf club.
Knights Grange Golf Course on Grange Lane was shut down after Mack Trading ceased trading with immediate effect on October 3.
A spokesman for Cheshire West and Chester Council said: "We received notification on Friday that Butcher Woods Limited has been appointed as liquidators for Mack Trading. Consequently and to return Knights Grange sites to the council, the council has served notice to terminate lease and other agreements.
"The council has immediately made arrangements for the assessment of the condition of the sites and other related assets and the commissioning of a greens and fairways maintenance regime.
"The council is assessing the best options to bring the sites into operational use as soon as possible."
Cllr Louise Gittins, cabinet member communities and wellbeing, said after the closure was announced: "This is very disappointing news and we are now looking at options for the future running of the course."
Knights Grange is one of nine golf courses across the country which closed after operator Mack Golf, owned by Mack Trading, ceased trading.
