Age UK Cheshire’s Falls Prevention Team will be visiting Northwich Waitrose on Wednesday, October 24, to take bookings for their free home visiting service.

Tracy Etherington, Age UK Cheshire’s Falls Prevention co-ordinator, said: “We are delighted that Waitrose is supporting us in our efforts to reduce the number of older people having falls. One in three people over 65 have at least one fall every year and the consequences can be devastating. Even the fear of falling can stop older people enjoying their lives to the full."

The team will be giving advice at the store between 10am and 2pm, and arranging home visits. During a visit tailored falls prevention advice is given and a home hazards survey completed.

This free service is available to anyone aged over 65 and living in the Cheshire West and Chester area. If you have had a fall or are concerned about falling, the Falls Prevention team can help you.

If you are eligible or have a friend or relative who would benefit from the service head down to Waitrose to book a visit. If you can’t make it on the day call the Falls Prevention Team on 01606 884446.
