WEAVER Vale MP Mike Amesbury paid a visit to a Northwich care home this week to join the harvest festival celebrations.
Mike joined in with Daneside Care Home residents – as well as Witton Church Walk Primary School choir and members from St Helen Witton Church – as they sang hymns and read poetry as part of the day.
The traditional celebrations mark a successful harvest.
Festival food including shortbreads, flapjacks and scones, made by the car home’s residents, were then offered out to those in attendance.
Mike said: “It’s a great way to engage the residents in something that is active and community-based, bringing together older and younger generations.
“We had great fun singing along to some hymns and sharing in the seasonal festivities.”
