A SWIMMING school has teamed up with the Forestry Commission and Fit Mamas to present a free mums and babies event at Delamere.

The Puddle Ducks Mid Cheshire's first 'Forest Fit Mamas and Babas' event saw new mums and babies up to 15 months old take to the water at Delamere Forest School.

The day started with a free lunch at Delamere café, before the little swimmers were introduced to Puddle Ducks baby swimming classes and a postnatal fitness class from Fit Mamas, designed for new mums.

Rachel Bateson, franchise manager of Puddle Ducks Mid Cheshire, said: “Swimming lessons are ideal for helping babies and young children to get regular exercise from an early age, as well as benefiting their social interaction skills.

"We see children and parents create lifelong friendships from their weekly swimming classes while keeping fit and a lifelong love of swimming, which is great.

“The Forestry Commission, Fit Mamas and ourselves all share so much in common in terms of health and lifestyle here in the Delamere area.

"Therefore, coming together to create the event was perfect.

"We are delighted that the event was a huge success and will undoubtedly be the first of many.”
