FREE baby and toddler sessions are now being offered to parents and carers.

Rudheath and Witton Together have teamed up with Little Owls Nursery and Pre-School to run a group every Wednesday from 10am to 11am at The Venue on Gadbrook Road.

This active and fun session encourages parents to play with their children, sing songs, share stories and learn how to use everyday household objects as play.

This holistic approach has been very successful within the nursery and pre-school and the staff are now helping parents to take a similar approach when playing.

Mum Zoe Cadman said: "My son Reggie loves exploring new things and I've learnt that I don't have to spend loads of money on toys. By being inventive with everyday objects, play can be imaginative as well as interactive."

Katy Sneyd, community development officer for Rudheath and Witton Together, has worked on creating groups where everyone feels welcome.

She said: "It is really important that the community can come together in a variety of ways.

"The toddler Session is a place where children can play and their parents/carers can learn new skills as well as make new friends. It also helps that the kettle is always on the biscuit tin is full.

"We are always looking for new ideas on how we can improve the area so if you have an idea please get in touch."
