MAGNIFICENT feathered friends proved a real hoot when they visited Redwalls Nursing Home at Sandiway.
The Vale Royal Falconry Centre took four owls to the home to show the residents.
“All the residents really enjoyed it, and have asked if we can have the falconry centre back again,” said Emma Edwards, the activities co-ordinator at the home.
“The visit was also enjoyed by people who were visiting the home at the time.”
Vale Royal Falconry Centre is at Acton Bridge, and owner Nanette Hudson took along Little, Barn, Tawny and European Eagle owls to the nursing home.
“It was fabulous being able to show wildlife to the residents and let them hold and stroke the owls,” said Nanette.
“They are able to hear Tawny Owls at night.”
Nanette has 25 years’ experience of training and flying a range of birds, including many owl species, and there are more than 50 birds of prey at the centre.
