A NEW self-storage facility has opened up at Chesterway Retail Park this week.

The third branch of SureStore welcomed customers through the door following a multi-million pound investment in the former Bensons for Beds and Comet stores off Chesterway.

The brainchild of Cheshire entrepreneurs Mike Wilson of Alderley Edge and Andy Wood of Nantwich, managed storage facility SureStore has ambitions of opening seven more facilities across the region over the next 18 months.

Mike, 44, SureStore managing director and newly-appointed chairman of the Self Storage Association UK, said: “It is an urban myth that self storage encourages a nation of hoarders.

“Come in, look behind the scenes, and you will see a thriving community of business owners, charity workers and families. They could be transitioning from running a business at home, expanding an already successful enterprise, storing overflows of charitable donations, or they could need a space to store treasured possessions while going off to university or travelling around the world.

“Our success is directly dependent on how well we help our customers to negotiate the increasing speed of change in their lives.”

Paul Whittaker, SureStore director, added: “As soon as we saw the location of the redundant building in Chesterway Retail Park, we knew we could have a great opportunity to contribute to the regeneration of the town centre.

“As the only managed storage facility in the area, we will be offering local people more than 35,000sq ft of space, including offices, drive-up units and trade counters.

“We’re grateful for the warm welcome we have already received from our neighbours, Pets at Home, B&M Bargains and Lidl, and we are looking forward to working with many more local people and businesses to add sustainable, long-term value to the town.”
