MIKRON Theatre Company will return to Winsford next weekend as part of the town’s annual Salt Regatta.

Mikron’s new show ‘Get Well Soon’ will be shown at Fountains Square in Winsford Cross Shopping Centre on Saturday, September 15 at 7.30pm, as the theatre company arrives in Winsford in its 47th year of touring.

Playing at the shopping centre for the first time, Mikron will celebrate 70 years of the NHS with its new production set at St Monica Hospital and facing bugs, bed-blockers and a battle to save A&E.

Playwright Ged Cooper is writing for Mikron for the first time and says he has had a great time getting her teeth into Get Well Soon.

Ged said: "I love Mikron's theatrical style; lively and accessible, with a social conscience. You laugh a lot at a Mikron play, but then you go away and think, so I was thrilled when they asked me to write about the NHS on its 70th birthday.

“I had so many ideas whirling round my head; I feel so strongly about the NHS, a uniquely British achievement, that to research and write about it was an honour and privilege - and great fun."

Tickets for the show can be bought by calling 01606 593582. Tickets cost £13 or £11 concession, or family tickets for two adults and two under 16s cost £30.
