FIREFIGHTERS were called to deal with an incident at Delamere Forest this morning, Tuesday.
Around 8.35am, a crew from Tarporley was sent to reports of a fire in the open at the forest in Station Road
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "On arrival the crew discovered a fire involving approximately eight square metres of undergrowth and deep seated peat near the railway line on the Gruffalo Walk and Delamere Forest's Visitor Centre.
"Firefighters extinguished the fire with a hose reel jet and then used a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.
"They were in attendance for around 40 minutes."
