FAMILY and friends of a Winsford woman celebrated a milestone birthday this week.

Elsie Hunt, who lives at Daneside Court Care Home in Northwich, celebrated 100 years of life on Monday, July 30.

Workers said that Elsie had been very excited for the build-up to her special day and wanted to celebrate with a birthday cake.

But, most of all, she was looking forward to a drink and wanted everyone dancing on the tables.

Sharon Lelonek, wellbeing coordinator at the home, said: “Elsie is such a warm person giving lots cuddles and kisses and family are by her side all the time.

“She was excited to be turning 100 and loved her party and family being there with her.”

Elsie believes that her incredible love for family has kept her going all these years, being the backbone of the family and supporting them with all their needs.

Mrs Hunt was born in Salford and, during her life, had seven sons and more than 20 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She worked as a cleaner at various schools in Winsford whilst living in Crossfield with her husband of 47 years.

Joanne Farrell, home manager at HC-One Daneside Court, said: “Turning 100 years young is such an incredible accomplishment and we wouldd all love to wish Elsie a happy birthday from all the staff and residents at Daneside.”
