FIREFIGHTERS are at the scene of a cornfield fire in Antrobus.
Three fire engines – two from Northwich and one from Lymm – were sent to the blaze in Pole Lane shortly before 2pm today.
The crews had to set up an open water supply from a nearby lake to tackle the fire.
The fire is now out and firefighters remain on the scene.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire Service said: “On arrival crews discovered that the fire involved an area measuring approximately 40 square metres.
“Crews are now damping down the area using two hose reel jets.”
