A556 closed after crash involving lorry and pedestrian
THE A556 has been reopened in both directions following a crash this morning involving a lorry and a pedestrian.
The incident happened at around 8.30am today near to the junction with Birches Lane in Lostock and the road was closed in both directions between the A530 and the A559 Manchester Road.
The Chester-bound carriageway was reopened shortly after, but the Manchester-bound carriageway remained closed for almost three hours.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "The A556 Northwich Bypass has now reopened in both directions. Many thanks for your patience."
