A BLAKEMERE pet shop that was featured on the Real Housewives of Cheshire has benefitted from the TV appearance.

Ginger and Browns, in Chester Road, appeared on the reality TV show at the start of April after they were approached by the producers of the programme.

Rachel Spencer and Josh Beeston started the business in order to provide modern products for pets and wildlife.

Rachel, 31, said: “We started it out of love for our own pets really and wanting to find the best for people, find good prices and products that aren’t found in any other pet shop.

“Every item that we sell we research it a lot beforehand, we don’t sell anything that is going to cause any damage to anyone’s pets.”

The shop celebrated its second birthday around the time of the TV appearance and both occasions have been good for business.

Rachel said: “We turned two at the end of March and we had a bit of a party at the weekend.

“We’ve had loads of people in to see the shop and we’ve had quite a few online orders as well so it has definitely benefitted us.”

The filming process gave customers at Ginger and Browns the opportunity to make an appearance on the show.

“They were here for three and a half hours and it was really fun, we’ve never experienced anything like that before.

“They had all of their equipment set up in the shop but we were still open throughout the filming, so we had customers coming in and they could choose whether they wanted to be on the programme.”

Despite their excitement over their appearance on TV, Rachel and Josh could not tell anyone about it straight away.

“We had to wait until it had aired before we could tell anyone about it. We were excited but a bit nervous as well because neither of us are particularly good at being on camera.”
