A PLANNING application to improve the Weaverham Sea Scouts Hall has been put forward to Cheshire West and Chester Council.

The renovations involve improving the structure of the hall, which has been a longstanding feature of Weaverham.

Rob Lloyd, Group Scout leader, said: “The wooden hall in Weaverham was built about 90 years ago and my grandfather was one of the many local people who helped to build it.

“A few years ago, we gained enough funds to replace the kitchen and toilets at the rear of the building with a modern brick-built structure.

“We now hope to do the same with the main hall which is showing signs of its age.

“The external appearance will remain as close to the original as possible but the structure will be brick and hopefully provide a home for Weaverham Sea Scouts for generations to come.”
