NORTHWICH Carpetright has survived the company's mass closure of stores across the country.

The high street carpet firm announced that it is set to close 92 of its stores across the UK.

It currently has more than 400 stores.

Wilf Walsh, Carpetright's chief executive, said: "These tough but necessary actions will enable us to address the burden of a legacy UK property estate consisting of too many poorly located stores on unsustainable rents and are essential if we are to restore our profitability and deliver a successful turnaround."

The store at Northwich Retail Park is not on the list of stores that are due to be closed.
