TATTON MP Esther McVey has been given her second promotion in three months in today’s Government cabinet reshuffle.
The former Wirral West MP, who replaced George Osborne as Tatton’s MP in the 2017 General Election, has been named secretary of state for work and pensions by Prime Minister Theresa May.

Ms McVey was given the role of deputy chief whip during a reshuffle last November, just five months after being elected.
She replaces David Gauke as the work and pensions secretary, who took on the role in June 2017.
Ms McVey served as an employment minister from October 2013 until May 2015 while serving as a Wirral MP.
