A LARGE group of protestors gathered in Peover and Crowton over the New Year period to protest against meetings of Cheshire Forest Hunt.

The group met at The Dog at Peover in Well Bank Lane on Saturday, December 30, and at the Hare and Hounds in Station Road on New Year’s Day.

More than 50 people turned out on both days to protest, armed with banners encouraging people to find out information about the hunts on the internet.

One protestor said: “The aim of the banners was to get a message across, directing people to Google rather than stating my own opinion, which I expect they could just disagree with.”

Cheshire Police have launched an investigation following allegations of illegal fox hunting in near-by Allostock on Boxing Day.
