A MAN has been taken to hospital after a car crash in Middlewich.
At around 9am today police were called to reports of a collision between a Land Rover Discovery and a tree in the A530 near the Verdin Arms, Wimboldsley.
A man was removed from the car and taken to Leighton Hospital.
Firefighters also attended the scene due to smoke coming from the vehicle.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to reports of a collision on the A530 Nantwich Road.
"Officers attended and found that a Landrover Discovery had come of the road and collided with a tree.
"The driver was treated at the scene by paramedics and has been taken to Leighton Hospital.
"Following the collision the road was closed due to a fallen telegraph pole. The road reopened at 10.50am."
