POLICE were called to the University of Chester Academy Northwich (UCAN) after a man tried to enter the building last night.
The school was holding an open evening on Thursday when a man, who was not attending the event, entered the school premises.
Police attended and asked the man to leave the premises.
A police spokesman said: “On Thursday, September 28 shortly after 7.30pm, police were called to reports of an incident at a school on Shipbrook Road, Northwich.
“A man is believed to have entered the school during open evening and was to ask to leave.
“Officers attended the scene, no offences were disclosed by staff, and the man left the school on police request.”
A UCAN spokesman confirmed staff called the police after the man tried to enter the building.
The school spokesman said: "During an Open Evening for the University of Chester Academy Northwich (UCAN) on Thursday, September 28, staff called Cheshire Police when an individual, who was unconnected with the
event, tried to enter the building.
“Officers attended and the individual was asked to leave.
“UCAN treats safeguarding with the utmost seriousness and therefore followed its robust procedures to ensure the safety of its children, parents and staff.
