WINSFORD returned to winning ways in Division Two.

They racked up a maximum 25 points following a 38-run win against Over Peover at Knights Grange, helped largely by James Tierney's best performance for the first team.

Batting first, the hosts lost wickets at regular intervals before Tierney (25) and keeper Brian Smith (33) shared 59 runs for the eighth wicket to take them to 122-9.

Tierney took the prize wickets of Nightingale and Bones as Over Peover succumbed to 85 in reply, earning himself the Cliff Dickenson and Son Star Man award.

Mike Clarke (3-15) also shone with the ball.

Points: Winsford 25, Peover 5.
