MIDDLEWICH Primary School gathered to celebrate community spirit in memory of MP Jo Cox.
The school hosted a tea party to celebrate what we have in common, to mark the first anniversary of Jo’s murder, and it was attended by Fiona Bruce MP and Samantha Moss, Middlewich Town Mayor.
Fiona said: “It was wonderful to be at Middlewich Primary School for their Great Get Together with delicious cakes, beautiful pennants designed by pupils and super singing.
“I was particularly touched by the ‘signed singing’ choir, and it was interesting to chat with pupils to compare their school life today with mine of a generation or more ago.”
The Great Get Together celebrations were backed by Cheshire East Council to encourage residents across the borough to join together to share food, conversation and celebrate what we have in common.
CEC had made grants available for community groups to hold street parties, and 70 separate events were supported by the scheme in the borough.
