A ROWING club which provides fun and friendly activities for the whole family has been boosted by support from Tesco Northwich.
Based on the River Weaver, Northwich Rowing Club competes at local, national and international levels throughout the year and caters for people of any experience and age.
The Tesco store on Manchester Road has donated £500 to the club as part of its commitment to support local community groups and charities.
The donation will help with applying for and taking part in events and also replacing equipment.
A cheque was presented to rowing club vice-captain Ellie Preece by Tesco Northwich community champion Julie Stockton.
Julie said: “Whilst we are dedicated and focused on serving our customers and enhancing their shopping experience in our store, we are also keen to engage with and help to support our local community.
“Northwich Rowing Club provides great facilities for the whole family and we are delighted to be able to support it in this way.”
Ellie Preece said: “The club relies solely on its army of dedicated volunteers and the support of the community to keep the club running, so we are extremely grateful to Tesco for supporting us in this way.
"The club is always looking for volunteers to help with the day-to-day running of the club, along with anyone who would like to be part of its three very successful events each year.
