Kanya Café Bar and Bistro has relaunched following an extensive renovation.

The new-look Bistro was unveiled on Wednesday evening at a grand relaunch event.

The High Street restaurant was formally opened by the Bistro’s manager Nagendra Kumar Prasad.

Following the relaunch, Nagendra said: “Kanya has always been committed to Northwich and its people.

“We feel that our guests deserve to be served a memorable meal in a relaxed, comfortable and efficient setting.

“Our totally refurbished premises are now ready, menus have been prepared and team Kanya is relishing the prospect of showing you the best that they can offer."

Nagendra said the new-look Kanya will host a number of themed evening, and will also be available for private events.

It is Kanya’s third major relaunch in recent years.

Nagendra took over Kanya, in High Street, in 2010.

After a £30,000 investment in the café’s kitchen in 2011, he began to offer a fine dining experience on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.

The Bistro then had another refurbishment in August 2013.

The latest relaunch has seen the dining room extended along with other works.

New head chef, John Wesley, who formally headed up the kitchen in Manchester’s Marriott Hotel, is responsible for putting together Kanya’s new fine British cuisine menu.

Guests who attended Wednesday’s relaunch sampled some of the head chef’s offerings.

John said “I am delighted to join the Kanya team.

“Nagendra’s passion to serve exciting new dishes with quality ingredients and first class service is one that I share and I can’t wait to take the people of Northwich on that journey with us.”

While enjoying the culinary skills of John and his team, guests were serenaded by a live performance from singer and compere Rob Steele.

Graham Evans, Conservative candidate for Weaver Vale, was one of the 35 guests that attended the grand opening.
