A GROUP who are aiming to tackle social isolation in west Cheshire are now embarking on a mission to create a ‘dementia inclusive Winsford’.

Brightlife will be commissioning services in Winsford to test how people living with dementia and their carers can gain enhanced visibility and greater inclusion in the community.

The group will be hosting a ‘Dementia in Winsford Workshop on May 24 to discuss how to improve dementia services in Winsford.

A Brightlife spokesman said: “It is hoped that, by working with partners, whatever we commission will form the basis of creating a dementia inclusive Winsford.

“This is a chance for professionals with knowledge about dementia, carers, or the Winsford community to help shape what this commission looks like.”

The workshop is aimed at anyone already providing services for people living with dementia, individuals or organisations with knowledge of how living with dementia affects people and their carers, anyone with knowledge about Winsford and the services and activities currently available, and anyone interested in submitting a tender for Brightlife’s commissions around dementia in Winsford.

A separate workshop will be held for those living with dementia and their carers at a later date.

The workshop will take place at the Lifestyle Centre at The Drumber from 10am to 2.30pm.
