A MAN who has been remanded in custody following the stabbing of a security guard at Winsford Job Centre in November last year, will now face trial in June.

Lewis Martin Preston, 28, of no fixed abode, was arrested in November 2016 following an incident at the Job Centre in High Street, where a security was stabbed in the arm.

Preston was later charged with criminal damage, section 18 wounding with intent, threatening a person with a blade or sharply pointed article in a public place, and possession of a bladed article.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges at Chester Crown Court on December 5 and was remanded in custody.

Preston was due to stand trial today, but his trial has now been adjourned until June.
