THE project which has temporarily turned Winsford town centre into a laundry-style art gallery will be back next year, organiser Derek Johnson has said.

Artwork, mainly from schoolchildren around Winsford, was hung up through Winsford Cross Shopping Centre on Thursday and will stay there until next week. The project coincided with the French ‘Laundry Day’.

CrossHatch Gallery owner Derek Johnson decided to get Winsford involved as a way of showing links with twin town, Deuil-la-Barre, near Paris.

Derek told the Guardian he is pleased with how the project has gone and confirmed he plans to do it again next year, with some added extras.

Derek said: “It has been very well received and it’s been really nice to see people looking and taking pictures. It’s nice to see something hanging in the shopping centre, it really brightens it up.

"It will be back next year and we’re hoping to do some workshops while it’s going on so people can do some work and hang it straight up.”
