LOSTOCK Lodge care home residents Bill and June Stedman celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary with family and friends.
Bill joined the Royal Air Force at the age of 16, where he trained for three years, to become an engineer.
He was then selected as an air crew member in 1950. It was also around this time in the early 1950s that Bill was offered a professional football player contract.
June was an actor, performing in pantomimes across the country. They were also members of a local youth club, which is where they met, and were married in 1953, and celebrated 64 years of married life on March 14.
Home manager Cheryl Wildman said: “All of the team at Lostock Lodge were absolutely delighted to share their 64th anniversary with Bill and June, and help make the day special for them.”
Lostock Lodge officially opened in January 2016.
