FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze at a Byley barn on Friday evening, remaining at the scene until 11am the following day.
Crews from Middlewich, Knutsford, Northwich and Winsford were called at 4.39pm on Friday, January 13, to the 1,000sq m, two-storey building in Byley Lane where the roof later collapsed.
Firefighters used one main water jet and two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire in the 1,000sq m barn, and a light portable pump was used to get water from a nearby brook.
The electrics were isolated, and police were called to close Byley Lane while the incident was dealt with.
Representatives from United Utilities and Scottish Power were also in attendance and consulted with fire crews at the scene.
After the fire was extinguished, one engine remained on the scene until 11.08am on Saturday, updating the incident and using a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.
