BARCLAYS bank in Northwich high street has been evacuated this morning due to a suspected electrical fire.
Firefighters were called to the scene shortly before 9am after smoke was seen coming from an electrical box.
Customers were evacuated as a precautionary measure but staff remained in the bank.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We received a call at 8.53am after smoke was seen coming from an electrical box.
“Firefighters are still in the process of investigating though it does not appear as though any fires have had to be put out.
“The building was evacuated as a precautionary measure.”
