DRONE footage shows a glimpse of what Northwich’s night-time economy will look like once Barons Quay is completed.

The latest birds-eye view footage taken in the Northwich skyline shows a variety of stunning shots of the new Odeon cinema, which sits along the River Weaver.

Phase one of the £80 million development saw the opening of Asda in November 2016, with the five-screen cinema opening shortly afterwards in December.

The scheme’s first restaurant, Wildwood, also opened just before Christmas.

Cllr Brian Clarke, Cheshire West and Chester cabinet member for economic development and infrastructure, said: “Barons Quay is coming together bit by bit, the Odeon Cinema, new Asda and multi-storey car park are proving very popular with residents and visitors.

“The photographs and visuals of the new buildings show that Barons Quay is adding a new perspective and vibrancy to a riverside area that was underutilised and largely cut off from the town centre.

“Work in 2017 will complete the jigsaw of development and see Barons Quay come to fruition.”

Starbucks will open a new store in Barons Quay in spring 2017. Italian restaurant chain Prezzo is also expected to be announced.

The 225,000 sq ft development, which is adjacent to the town centre, also features 900 free car parking spaces.

Barons Quay drone videos, which are co-ordinated by Manchester-based Cue Marketing, are released every month.
