GIFTED individuals will get the chance to battle it out for £1,000 in Warrington's Got Talent.

The competition, which will see Mayor Cllr Faisal Rashid search for the borough's most gifted individuals, has announced Taylor Business Park as its new sponsor.

And the business centre is offering up to £1,000 for the winner.

Cllr Rashid (LAB – Chapelford and Old Hall) is encouraging everyone with a talent to enter and be in with a chance of getting their hands on the cash prize.

Also supported by the Warrington Guardian, the competition is open to anyone of any age.

Cllr Rashid: "We want this contest to be a real showcase of all the talent that exists in Warrington.

"It doesn't matter what age you are – if you've got a talent, we want to see it."

The public will be invited to vote for their favourite acts on the event's Facebook page, with 20 lucky finalists set to be invited to perform in front of the Mayor and his team of surprise judges at the Parr Hall on February 24.

All money raised through the competition will go towards the Mayor's charity appeal.

Plans are also being considered for Warrington's winner to go head-to-head with the winner of Halton's Got Talent.

To enter, record a video of you performing your talent and upload it at facebook.com/warringtonsgottalent.
