A BALKAN band, with influences from across eastern Europe, are bringing their UK tour to Cheshire’s rural venues next month.

Budapest Café Orchestra’s “Legends and Romances” tour will travel to Little Budworth Jubilee Hall on Friday, November 11 at 7.30pm followed by a performance at Cuddington and Sandiway Village Hall on Saturday, November 12 at 7.30pm.

The infectious energy of the Budapest Café Orchestra will sweep you off your feet and stay in your heart forever. You will journey from one emotional pole to another: from a desperately tragic, evocative and heart-rending ancient Jewish melody, to a dance from Romania or Russia and all the fiery exuberance that goes with it.

Inspired by the music of the Balkan gypsies, the Budapest Café Orchestra plays an impassioned, but often tender, mix of Hungarian Czardas, Russian and Ukrainian folk songs and dances from Romania and Moldavia, as well as their own electrifying compositions.

The musicianship is outstanding and is firmly supported by their quirky, stylish appearance.

The only way to fully appreciate a Budapest Café Orchestra performance is to go and experience the magic yourself.

The shows form part of Cheshire Rural Touring Arts’ (CRTA) autumn season of touring, taking professional arts events to rural venues and libraries across the county.

Speaking ahead of the Cheshire gigs, Budapest Café Orchestra’s Christian Garrick said:

“We are delighted to be participating in the autumn programme for CRTA this year and look forward to bringing the show to community audiences around the county. The roots of the band spread back to touring for the rural networks of Dorset, Hampshire and Warwickshire in the 1990’s. The BCO have gone on to perform in some of the country’s most impressive auditoriums since, so we are equally at home performing in a rustic, remote Cheshire village hall as, for example, we are at Buxton Opera house!”

The band will also be playing four further Cheshire dates across December when they travel to Little Sutton, Plumley, Upton By Chester and Norley.

Tickets for the shows, which are suitable for all ages, can be booked directly from the venues by calling 01829 760 422 for Little Budworth and either 01606 883 128 or 07796 184 021 for Cuddington and Sandiway.
