THIS year’s Run Winsford 10k has been hailed as a success once again and organisers have hinted that the event will back again next year.

The 10k event, which takes in Winsford Salt Mine, Whitegate Way, Vale Royal Abbey and Weaver Way, took place on Sunday, October 9.

Hundreds entered the 10k run and Winsford Town Mayor, Cllr Steve Smith, who officially started the run, was impressed with this year’s event.

Cllr Smith said: “I started the Run Winsford 10k this morning in glorious sunshine and it was a great turnout, I’m so pleased that it was kept going again this year. Numbers were good and there was a good atmosphere.”

Organisers of the event took to Facebook to thank everyone who took part and also hinted at another return in 2017.

A Run Winsford spokesman said: “Huge thanks to everybody who took part this year and hope to see you again in the future. We are blessed to get support like we do and it doesn't go unappreciated.

“To all of the team who helped make today happen but most of all to you the participants we are humbled by your support so thank you. Next year anybody?”
