THE latest drone footage of Barons Quay shows residents taking full advantage of the free parking facilities.

The top level, or level 2 contains 400 free car parking spaces for up to four hours and was opened to the public in August.

Level 1 of the Barons Quay car park is expected to open at the end of November.

The latest birds-eye view footage taken in the Northwich skyline shows the £80 million development, which is situated along the River Weaver, from a variety of angles.

Barons Quay drone videos, which are co-ordinated by Manchester-based Cue Marketing, are released every month to give the public a glimpse into the exciting project.

Barons Quay will include an Asda superstore, Marks and Spencer’s, petrol station and a five-screen Odeon cinema featuring one of the first iSense screens in the UK.

Asda and Odeon have been handed the keys to their respective buildings.

The supermarket giant is scheduled to open by the end of 2016, with Odeon due to follow closely on its heels.

The second sequence of Barons Quay, which includes further shops and residential units, is expected to be finished in 2017.

Last month the Guardian revealed that week Tasty PLC, the firm behind the restaurant chain Wildwood, submitted a licensing application to the council.

And in June the Italian restaurant chain, Prezzo, also applied for a licence to sell alcohol at Barons Quay.

Catherine Fox, Northwich programme manager for the Mid Cheshire Development Board, said last month that further announcements will be 'made in due course’.
