WINSFORD extended their unbeaten run to four matches following an 11-run win over Alderley Park at Knights Grange.

They made hard work of it though, slipping to 38-4 by the 20th over on a pitch perfect for making runs. Ant Ollier (20) briefly rallied before James Dean took centre stage.

He hit seven fours and a huge six in his 46.

Brian Smith (25no) helped take the total to a respectable 149-7.

Andy Beswick picked up three wickets in his opening spell, reducing the visitors to 42-3, before spinner James Tierney struck in his opening over with the score on 55.

Alderley attacked, needing 24 from 12 balls to win, but Winsford captain Martin Barrett removed dangerman Farmer (47) to seal the points.
