A CYCLIST who died following a collision involving a HGV in Plumley has been named by police as David Holman from Northwich.

The collision occurred around 4.30pm on Wednesday, July 13, on the eastbound carriageway of the A556, Manchester Road, just outside Northwich.

Cheshire Police, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service attended the incident.

The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene and has now been formally identified as David Holman, 38.

Today, David’s family have released a heartfelt statement that said: “It is with deepest sadness that our wonderful son and brother sadly passed away in a road traffic accident.

“We take great comfort with all the heart felt messages and support we have received.”
