ANOTHER sell-out crowd turned out for Middlewich High School Community Choir’s annual summer concert on Saturday, June 11.
A range of songs from as far back as 1589 made up the performance, which choir members and choral director Julie Barker had spent six months preparing for.
There was something for everyone with musical theatre pieces, unaccompanied arrangements and contemporary pop.
Artists replicated on the night included Thomas Morley, Shearing & Shakespeare, The Mamas and Papas, The Beatles, Les Miserables, Fiddler on the Roof, Arthur Sullivan, Adele and Africa by Toto.
The now traditional picnic again filled the hour long interval, in which the audience and performers alike were given the chance to socialise with food, wine and champagne.
In recognition of the Queen’s 90th birthday, the concert closed with Rule Britannia and God Save the Queen – much to the delight of the Union Jack-waving audience in the patriotically decorated drama studio.
