WORK on the controversial Ansa environmental hub will start tomorrow, June 16, Cheshire East Council has confirmed.
Waste from across the borough will be processed at the Cledford Lane site, which is due to be complete in around nine months.
Contractors Wates Construction will head up the project, which will see the refurbishment of the old Ideal Standard factory as well as the construction of new buildings.
Wates and Cheshire East Council have installed an on-site community cabin where the public can learn more about the hub, having also set up a liaison committee involving Middlewich residents.
Councillor Don Stockton, Cheshire East Council cabinet member for regeneration, said: “This project will maximise our recycling efforts and reduce landfill to an absolute minimum.”
