ALARMED parish councillors are determined to have their say on the number of sites put forward for development in Davenham and Moulton.

Members of both parish councils have expressed their fears after looking through the suggestions made in response to a call for sites put forward by Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWAC).

This includes eight sites in Davenham and six in Moulton.

Cllr Katie Mattinson, chairman of Davenham Parish Council, said: "It's pretty much every open patch of land between us and Moulton."

Sites include fields off London Road, bordering Davenham Hall, and land behind Davenham Church.

A group of fields between Jack Lane and the A533 in Moulton, opposite Beehive Corner, have also been suggested.

The call for sites is part of CWAC's work to put together its Local Plan Part Two.

Cllr Elton Watson, from Davenham Parish Council, said: "CWAC needs to look at those and see which sites they want to include in the Local Plan.

"There will be a consultation and the opportunity to take part in that."

Speaking at Moulton Parish Council's latest meeting Cllr Arthur Wood, a member of both parish councils, said: "I was talking to a senior planning officer and the gist of it was that not a lot of this would go anywhere but you can't guarantee and I think we should make sure we have got a strong objection to these sites.

"I just feel that we would be found wanting if we didn't put a very strong case against these sites."
