FOLLOWING on from Marks and Spencer’s introduction of restrictions at its Northwich car park the Co-op is looking to do likewise at its store.
Marks and Spencer has brought in restrictions to free up spaces for its customers, the same reason behind the Co-op’s move to bring in restrictions at its Chester Way store.
The car park fronting the Co-operative Food store currently has no restrictions, but that is due to change later this month, with free parking possibly being limited up to 90 minutes.
A spokesperson for The Co-operative Food told the Guardian today: “Parking controls are introduced only where needed to ensure that space remains available for our customers to park.
“Some cars have been left for long periods of time at the Chester Way, Northwich, car park and so, following a review, restrictions are to be introduced.
“The Co-op believes that such controls should be fair however, and plans include up to 90 minutes of free parking. The new signage and controls are expected to be implemented later this month.”
The Guardian contacted the Co-op for a comment after rumours circulated that the store was seeking to bring in parking restrictions.
What do you think of the move to restrict parking at the Co-op’s car park in Chester Way?
