DURING the Conservative Party leader's visit to Crewe on Tuesday, David Cameron outlined his positive regard of the burgeoning Polish community in Crewe.
He said: "I think the Poles in Britain are making a huge contribution to our economy and they are very welcome.
"I know there is a big Polish population in Crewe and they make a great contribution to the town."
But he feels that immigration in general needs to be monitored.
He added: "Obviously there should be limits to overall immigration.
"Clearly people from Poland are part of the European Union and so are entitled to come but we have always said that in terms of non-European migration we need to have a points system which we're glad the Government has now taken up, but we think in addition to the points system we do need a limit on non-EU migration for work and that's something we're keen to put in place.
"Immigration has great benefits to Britain but it does need to be limited and measured so we don't put too much pressure on health, social services, housing and education."
