A REGIONAL builder has agreed to sponsor a golden ball in aid of a Northwich children's charity.

The Joshua Tree has been selected at Persimmon Homes North West's nominated charity for 2015 and the developer will support the charity's fairytale-themed event on September 24.

The Golden Ball takes place at Nunsmere Hall Hotel and is organised as part of International Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Lynda Hill, founder of The Joshua Tree, said: “September is such as important awareness-raising month for us and our Golden Ball mirrors the golden ribbon theme for childhood cancer. “We’ve lots of lovely ideas planned for the evening, as well some special guests for our ‘gold-tie’ event and we’re hoping ball-goers will help us to make our families wishes come true by buying golden tickets.”

Funds raised at the event will help The Joshua Tree towards its ambition to build a support centre in Sandiway for families affected by childhood cancer.

Guests at the ball will enjoy a welcome drink, three-course meal and entertainment from Josh Whittaker and Paul Pashley.

Charity patron, TV presenter and radio DJ Mark Radcliffe will also be attending.

David Hodgson, sales and marketing director for Persimmon Homes North West, said: “All funds from The Joshua Tree Golden Ball will go towards the charity’s #digdeep campaign to build a dedicated support centre for families affected by childhood cancer in Sandiway, Cheshire by May 2016.

“Everyone at Persimmon Homes is proud to support such a worthy local cause and we look forward to sharing a splendid fundraising evening with them.”

For tickets, priced £50 per head or £450 for a table of 10, are available by calling 01606 331858 or emailing office@thejoshuatree.org.uk.

Persimmon Homes North West first selected The Joshua Tree as its nominated charity in 2013 and has, to date, donated more than £20,000 to the charity.
