PLUMLEY Probus held one of its regular meetings at the Golden Pheasant on Tuesday last week.
The speaker was Ian Bostock on the subject of his life in the wine trade. Ian had worked for a large retailer in the centre of Manchester and kept members entertained with tales of how the wine trade developed and how it changed after Britain joined the Common Market in 1971.
The next meeting is on Tuesday, September 8, when local man, Tony Davies, will be speaking 0n the subject of the First World War.
